CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 28, 2026) – Fastbreak AI, the leading AI-powered sports operations company, today announced the acquisition of GroupHousing, one of the most established group hotel booking and housing management companies serving tournament directors, sports commissions and event operators across the U.S. and Canada.
The acquisition moves GroupHousing's existing book of business onto Fastbreak's travel management platform, bringing hundreds of thousands of annual room nights and a substantial roster of tournament operator contracts into the integrated Fastbreak Travel. GroupHousing also adds decades of hotel contracting experience, established relationships with every major hotel brand in North America and an experienced reservations team that will join Fastbreak Travel to continue supporting tournament and sports event customers. Mike Bower, the founder and CEO of GroupHousing, will join Fastbreak AI as Senior Vice President of Business Development for Fastbreak Travel.
"Group travel is one of the most fragmented areas of amateur sports. It’s been stuck running on manual processes and disconnected software for decades," Co-Founder and CEO of Fastbreak AI John Stewart said. "GroupHousing has built real scale and developed many great hotel relationships in this space. Bringing them into Fastbreak Travel puts us in a position very few companies can match, and it moves us meaningfully closer to our vision of running every aspect of an event on one connected platform."
With GroupHousing as part of the business, Fastbreak Travel is positioned as one of the largest group travel companies in amateur sports, combining significant booking volume with the ability to connect room nights directly to event registration, scheduling and operations through a single software platform.
"Ask any tournament director what the most tedious and time-consuming part of running an event is, and hotel bookings are almost always at the top of the list," General Manager of Fastbreak Travel Tanner King said. “It’s one of the only areas still being managed with spreadsheets and emails while everything else has moved to modern software. This acquisition gives us greater room volume, hotel partners and deeper travel expertise, while helping youth tournament operators lower travel costs for families.”
For tournament operators, the acquisition closes the gap between event management and hotel booking. Families can register for an event and reserve their rooms in a single, seamless flow. Operators gain real time visibility into room block pickup, rebate revenue and stay-to-play compliance alongside their registration and scheduling data. Hotels and destinations benefit from a single relationship that delivers both event demand and travel volume.
"I started GroupHousing because I believed tournament operators and the families traveling to their events deserved better than what the industry was offering," Bower said. "Over the course of 20 years, our team has earned the trust of operators, hotels and sports commissions one event at a time. Joining Fastbreak does not change that foundation. It strengthens our ability to serve our customers and hotel partners at a higher level through greater resources, the industry’s leading technology, and expanded reach. Our best work is still ahead of us.”
The combined Fastbreak Travel business now works across every major hotel brand in the U.S. and Canada, supporting events ranging from local and regional tournaments to national championships. Fastbreak Travel is available as a standalone product for event operators managing attendee hotel blocks and as an integrated capability of the Fastbreak AI amateur sports platform. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
