Fastbreak AI Appoints Jason Smith as Vice President of Business Development for Professional Sports

Sports industry sales leader to expand league partnerships and drive adoption of AI-powered professional sports platforms

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (February 25. 2026) – Fastbreak AI, the leading AI-driven sports operations software company, today announced that Jason Smith has joined the company as Vice President of Business Development for Professional Sports. Smith will lead the company’s efforts to expand partnerships with professional leagues, collegiate conferences, international federations and elite clubs worldwide. His appointment comes as Fastbreak AI enters a new phase of commercial growth, including major new partnerships expected to be announced in the coming months and the market launch of Fastbreak Perform.

For Smith, the appeal of joining Fastbreak is rooted in what makes the company fundamentally different from other players in sports technology.

“Most sports tech companies are building features, Fastbreak is building something bigger – an AI optimization engine that has proven to make a huge impact on league revenue and team performance,” Smith said. “What attracted me to Fastbreak is the pace and culture. This team operates with a speed and conviction that I haven’t seen elsewhere in this industry. The opportunity to bring these platforms to professional leagues and teams is one I couldn’t pass up.”

Smith brings more than 15 years of experience building and scaling enterprise sales organizations in sports and adjacent industries. At TeamSnap, he led the brand partnerships sales motion. Before that, he was the first sales hire at LeagueSide, where he built the sales function from scratch, helping scale the company and drive revenue. That trajectory culminated in LeagueSide’s acquisition by TeamSnap in 2022. Across both organizations, Smith demonstrated a rare combination of skills: the ability to close complex, multi-year deals while building the teams and systems needed to sustain long-term growth.

“Jason is the kind of person who finds a way to make things work on both sides of the table,”  Co-Founder and CEO of Fastbreak AI John Stewart said. “He knows how to earn trust with the most demanding customers in sports, and he brings the cultural fit and personal integrity that matter at a company like ours. As we grow into new products, new leagues and new markets, Jason is exactly the right person to be our face with our largest customers.”

In his role, Smith will drive the adoption of Fastbreak Pro Schedule, the company’s AI-powered scheduling platform serving leading professional leagues and collegiate conferences, including NBA, NHL, MLS and SEC. He is also spearheading the commercial development of Fastbreak Perform, a new product designed to optimize the daily schedules of athletes, coaches and staff to improve team performance at elite clubs.

Both products reflect Fastbreak's ambition to become the operating backbone of professional sports, covering everything from how leagues strategically build their seasons to how teams drive performance through optimized daily routines.
